Policy: Extended Review for Flagged Guild-Passing Submissions (Kids & Teen Content)
Purpose
This policy applies specifically to kids and teenager content and ensures that submissions that meet Guild passing criteria but receive meaningful concern from Guild members are given additional review time and visibility. The goal is to maintain fairness, accuracy, and high-quality standards for content accepted onto Angel, particularly for younger audiences.
Policy Overview
When a kids or teenager content submission that is currently passing within the Guild, or has already passed the voting process, receives critical feedback from Guild members, it may enter an Extended Review Period.
Critical feedback may take the form of:
10 or more similar comments raising concern, or
At least one comment receiving 10 or more upvotes.
This process is intended to ensure that submissions with credible, community-supported concerns receive sufficient additional evaluation to produce an accurate and representative Guild score, especially given the heightened standards for youth-focused content.
Trigger Conditions
The following conditions may qualify a submission for Extended Review, but do not guarantee it. These criteria are used to identify cases where additional input may be necessary to ensure an accurate and representative score from the Guild voting process:
The submission is classified as kids or teenager content, and has already met or is currently meeting the Guild’s passing score threshold, and
It receives 10 or more similar critical comments from Guild members, or
It receives at least one critical comment with 10 or more upvotes.
Extended Review Period
The submission’s voting window may be extended beyond the standard duration.
The purpose of the extension is to:
- Allow more Guild members to evaluate the concerns raised.
- Ensure the final score reflects a broader and more representative consensus.
- During this time, the submission remains open for voting and discussion.
Guild Notification Support
To further ensure adequate participation:
Angel may send targeted notifications to Guild members when:
- A submission enters Extended Review.
- Additional votes are needed to reach a confident decision.Notifications are intended to:
- Increase visibility of contested submissions.
- Encourage thoughtful participation from a wider portion of the Guild.
Outcome Determination
At the end of the Extended Review Period, the submission’s final score will be established and will be the official score for the submission.
The extended process is designed to refine decision accuracy.
Principles
This policy is guided by the following principles:
Fairness: All submissions receive appropriate scrutiny when concerns arise.
Community-driven quality control: Guild member input meaningfully impacts outcomes.
Accuracy over speed: Additional time is prioritized when needed to reach a reliable decision.
Elevated standards for youth content: Additional care is taken when evaluating content intended for kids and teenagers.
Notes
Specific extension duration may be defined and adjusted over time.
Abuse of the flagging or upvoting system may result in moderation actions.
