At CinemaCon last week, Angel gave theater owners and industry partners a first look at the upcoming films headed to the big screen—and the message was clear: Angel’s theatrical slate is growing in scale, variety, and ambition. From a literary adaptation to westerns, thrillers, musicals, and epic event cinema, this next chapter of Angel’s theatrical storytelling reflects a wider range of genres, bolder swings, and stories designed to bring audiences together in theaters. Here’s a look at what’s coming next. Animal Farm Trailer AF First up is Animal Farm, arriving in theaters on May 1. Directed by Andy Serkis, this animated reimagining of George Orwell’s classic features an all-star cast including Seth Rogen, Woody Harrelson, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Gaten Matarazzo, and Serkis himself. Young Washington Trailer YW This Independence Day, on America’s 250th birthday, Angel will release Young Washington in theaters nationwide. Trailer Zad Closing out the year, Zero A.D. arrives in theaters this Christmas. Directed by Alejandro Monteverde, the film stars Jim Caviezel, Deva Cassel, Sam Worthington, and Ben Mendelsohn. A Bigger, Bolder Year Ahead At CinemaCon, Angel made the case that audiences are hungry for meaningful choices year-round—and that theatrical success grows when studios listen closely to what moviegoers actually want. This slate is Angel’s clearest expression of that idea yet: a lineup built not around one genre or one type of audience, but around stories designed to move, entertain, and bring people together on the big screen—all while continuing to amplify light. The future of Angel in theaters is getting bigger. And this year, that future is coming fast.
