After years of abuse and foster care, pregnant teen Agnes “Apple” Bailey (Vanessa Hudgens) runs away from her mother and searches for her estranged father, only to find herself without a home or support. With help from a priest (James Earl Jones), Apple finds refuge at a shelter for pregnant teens, where she forms lasting friendships and begins to rebuild her life.
