Ripples of Freedom: The Aftermath of Sound of Freedom

by Angel Studios | August 16, 2023

From the beginning, we wanted Sound of Freedom to create lasting change. We hoped audiences to witness this harrowing story and be moved to make a difference. Just a short time after its theatrical release, change is happening!

Bills and Laws

Trafficking is illegal, but we’re seeing government leaders take a look at other laws that may create loopholes for trafficking.

Representative Glenn Grotham of Wisconsin and Representative Lance Gooden of Texas have introduced H.R. 4869, the Migrant Child Safety Act, a bill to protect unaccompanied migrant children inside the U.S. by proposing greater scrutiny and screening for sponsors.

California Democratic Legislatures reversed their decision to strike down a proposed bill that would increase penalties for trafficking a child for sex.

Governor Ivey of Alabama signed the Sound of Freedom Act, the nation's toughest law on anti human trafficking.

Pledges

After a screening of Sound of Freedom, El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele signed a letter of intent pledging to end child slavery.

Rescues

As reported on August 1, the FBI located 200 victims of sex trafficking and identified or apprehended 126 suspects of child exploitation and human trafficking.

Conversations

As we have mentioned many times, sparking conversations is one of our main goals with Sound of Freedom. Communities are kicking off these conversations and it's so powerful to see!

Central Church discussed Sound of Freedom, human trafficking, and their Christian duty to help right the wrongs of this problem.
