Learn More About Cabrini
Throughout her lifetime, Cabrini established 67 orphanages, hospitals, and schools and was named the first American saint. In 1917, she passed away in Chicago and was canonized as a saint by Pope Pius XII in 1946, and became the Patroness of Immigrants in 1950. Today, the institute that Cabrini founded continues to fulfill diverse roles as educators, nurses, social workers, administrators, and board members worldwide. Her legacy of hope, compassion, and service to marginalized people has continued to inspire generations.
