What happens when the dream you’ve spent years chasing disappears overnight?
For high school football star Zach Truett, football is more than a game. It’s his shot at a college scholarship and a way to build a different future. But when a devastating knee injury takes him off the field, Zach is forced to figure out what comes next.

He Trained for Everything Except This
Zach has his future mapped out. He’s an all-star athlete with his sights set on a college football scholarship—and a ticket out of town.
Then one play changes everything.
A serious knee injury leaves Zach sidelined just as his football dreams are within reach. Suddenly, the thing he has worked toward for years is no longer guaranteed. Without football, Zach has to confront a difficult question: Who is he when he can’t do what he does best?
His brother refuses to let the setback be the end of their story. He laces up his cleats and takes to the track, pursuing his own opportunity while carrying the weight of his brother’s disappointment.
When One Dream Changes, What Do You Chase?
Run the Race isn’t just about what happens on the football field or the track. It’s about what happens when life takes an unexpected turn and the path ahead looks nothing like the one you planned.
Zach’s injury forces him to slow down and see his future differently. Along the way, his budding relationship with a young nurse at the hospital offers another source of hope and encouragement.
What begins as a story about an athlete chasing a scholarship becomes something deeper: a story about perseverance, purpose, and learning that your worth isn’t determined by what you can accomplish.
A Story About Brothers
At the heart of Run the Race is the bond between two brothers.
When Zach can no longer compete, his brother steps up. Their paths may look different, but they remain connected by the same family, the same struggles, and a desire to see each other succeed.
Their story explores the sacrifices people make for the ones they love and the strength that can come from having someone in your corner when everything seems to be falling apart.
It’s a sports story, but the biggest victories aren’t necessarily the ones measured on a scoreboard.
