Introduction to Web & System Integration
Angel.com enables businesses to leverage their existing Web investments and rapidly deploy voice solutions without having to purchase or administer speech or telecom infrastructure.
Getting Started
The best way to become familiar with all concepts and components necessary to deploy data driven Voice Sites with Angel.com is to read the Transaction Page User Guide.
Using Question & Transaction Pages
Question Pages are used to collect information from callers. Angel can collect numbers, credit cards, keywords, yes / no answers, time, date, currency and voice recordings.
Transaction Pages define the integration and data transfer to remote servers. Use Transaction Pages to link the Angel system to your own Web infrastructure.
Real-Time Data Transfer
Because Transaction pages can exchange data with remote Web servers using the HTTP protocol, they are easy to integrate with existing web systems, databases and web services. Transaction pages can post system parameters like Caller ID or dynamic parameters based on caller input. They can use SSL to create a secure tunnel to your application.
Server-Side Scripting Options
Developers can use the web programming language of their choice (ASP, JSP, PHP, Perl, etc.) on the remote server to create dynamic and sophisticated application call flows. Angel supports stateful programming models (session cookies) and will properly identify itself with your system for each phone call.
Angel's approach of dividing business logic from presentation empowers you to quickly re-use existing scripts generating other markup languages to now be voice-enabled.
Using AngelXML
AngelXML is a powerful markup language to enable data-driven on-the-fly generation of Voice Pages. It represents a complete API that enables the integration of Web services (such as .NET, J2EE) with Telephony and IVR. For more information, please check the Transaction Page Reference Guide.
AngelXML vs. VoiceXML
AngelXML is a higher-level dialect that allows you to create an IVR application with a lot less code. AngelXML uses "smart default" technology, enabling you to focus on the essentials of your application. It is also easier to use and learn, especially if you have no previous speech application development experience. View AngelXML and VoiceXML side by side
Advanced Debugging Tool-Kit
Part of Angel's Transaction Page functionality is an integrated tool-kit to test, analyze and debug responses from remote Web Servers.
