Angel.com correctly uncovered the untapped demand for hosted, rapidly deployable speech solutions for small and medium businesses, focusing on basic business productivity applications such as auto-attendant, store locator and order processing. Since Angel.com's inception in 1999 they have gained over 1,400 customers and deployed more than 10,000 speech applications, almost entirely through direct marketing on the Web. Understanding that the demand is there, they are expanding further by partnering with companies such as Comverse, who will market voice-driven business applications to network service providers.
